Terry’s strong work ethic, commitment to personal responsibility and an understanding of the importance of social justice was inspired by the legacy of her successful grandfather, a freed slave from Randolph County.
 
Terry believes that the ability of families to provide for themselves, have access to education, healthcare and a home is needed for a healthy, thriving community.
 
She served on the Winston-Salem City Council, and is a current chair of the Forsyth County Department of Social Services and sees “fairness” and social justice as fundamental American values, deserved by all.
